Why Braveship?

Braveship is the courage to take a step forward when it would be easier to stay still, to choose transparency when the temptation to wear a mask is strong, to see possibilities where others see limits, to choose the road less travelled even when we fear it.

Innovation cannot be taught, it has to be lived. There is no innovation without the freedom to make mistakes, without the possibility of questioning what has always been done.

From this perspective, diffused leadership is not something merely conceded but a conscious choice, one of autonomy nourished by trust. True change happens when we stop looking for alibis and start taking responsibility for what we can be.

From Tuscany to my first international experiences

I’m from Florence, or Fucecchio to be precise. I was born in ’77 at the time of true punk, and I’m mother to Diego and Cesare. 

I have a degree in Business Administration from the University of Pisa, and an MBA in International Management from the University of Brighton.

My career began as Telesales Manager for IBM Dublin, then continued at Computer Gross as Credit Manager, as head of the ITF Information Technology Finance team and Value Business Manager for the entire IBM business: Hardware, software and services.

CEO of the future: innovation, impact and vision

Preparation and hard work are fundamental for me. I’m described as being determined and tenacious, with a rebellious streak from an early age that has led me to analyse every situation in my life with curiosity and a critical eye.

In 2014 I was appointed Executive Director, and in 2021 CEO, of Var Group - not just a company but an engine of transformation for the future of business, and today an international reality.

People, innovation and new forms of organisation are my passions and the fulcrum of my everyday work.

Personal and professional growth only happens through sharing and dialogue: having a continuous interaction with the people and real situations that contribute value to our country is essential.

Precisely because of this experience over the years I have become an Advisory Board Member of Trainect and a Board Member of ASPHI, both committed to improving the well-being of people in their working and private lives.

Passions as a tool for growth and inspiration

My mantra is “Challenge your limits and don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone”. Walking, trekking and trail running are activities that enable me to push myself and reflect. Thanks to this passion I experience emotions immersed in the beauty of nature, and face challenges that put me to the test. Sometimes I’ve even thought I wouldn't make it, but thanks to my determination and desire to not give up I’ve pursued every challenge with determination.

No matter how difficult a goal may seem, with commitment and perseverance you can achieve your dreams. This is the message I spread every day at Var Group.

Creating a positive impact on people and society

I always say I wanted to be a psychologist. Being CEO of a company is a great responsibility, and when I say people’s well-being is fundamentally important it’s because I really believe it. I’m convinced that investing in people's satisfaction is the key to a harmonious and productive work environment, one in which everyone is motivated to grow and contribute to the success of all. 

I constantly seek to broaden my horizons. A trip to Madagascar in the summer of 2022 was a turning point. I decided that we also had to invest in distant places. We therefore started a joint project with Aid4Mada, a non-profit organisation that has been working in Madagascar since 2015 to improve the living conditions of the local population through school, food, medical/health, sports and environmental protection support projects for the benefit of children, teenagers, families and disadvantaged communities.

Moments that leave a mark

Every person's personal and professional life is marked by first time events. There are many moments that have marked my journey. I describe many of these in the book, both positive and negative, and it is the latter that challenge us and force us to think. But here I want to tell you about a few moments that hold a really special place in my heart. You can find out the rest by reading the book.

2025

I published my first book Braveship: an autobiography that tells my story and how the organisational revolution in Var Group came about.

2024

I was the winner of the Microsoft Power Women Award as a female CEO in Tech to inspire other women.

This was the year of Var Group's first two international Kick-Offs, in Spain and Germany.

2020

I took the stage of WOBI for the first time in Milan and Madrid to present my organisational revolution.

2019

My first TedX. In Empoli I talked about Ego and smart technologies: survival strategies
